Our Name

Wulfsgeist is Old German and means Spirit of the Wolf. When we were choosing a kindred name, we wanted to choose something which reflected our Germanic heritage and also something which conveyed the spirit in which our kindred was founded. The wolf has long been an image of strength, loyalty to the pack, courage, and kinship. With the merging of  our Germanic ancestry and the spirit of the wolf, our kindred's name was born. In our daily lives we seek to follow the guidance and example of both our ancestors and brother wolf.

Who are we?

We are a family-based Kindred located in Cambridge, NY.  We have 7 members (4 adults and 3 children). Our kindred began overseas, when it was just our family and a close family friend. Once we returned to the United States, we gained another member and settled into a more conventional existence. Because our kindred started as a family unit, we  We are a family first and foremost and all of our beliefs and traditions are geared toward family unity.

What do we believe?

We are Germanic Heathens. We follow the ancient beliefs of the Germanic Tribes of Pre-Christian Europe. We are polytheists and believe in a number of Gods and Goddesses. The traditions we follow are the same traditions that our ancestors followed for hundreds of years, before the coming of Christianity.  We believe that a tribal structure provides a more stable foundation for our daily traditions.
